Award and Recognition Program
ELIGIBILITY -Must be an UBSDA member during the year the award was earned AND the year in which UBSDA
presents the award. Therefore a two-year membership.
AWARD YEAR -Awards presented at the annual banquet include everything earned between January 1 and December
31 of the previous year (unless otherwise specified).
REQUESTING AWARDS- All UBSDA awards must be requested from the Awards Chairperson(s) using the awards
request form. A copy of the UKC certificate(s) must accompany requests. If a certificate is not issued, you may submit
proof by using a copy of the results from the Bloodlines (HIT, Group Placement etc). The completed award request
form and certificates/proof must be submitted at the same time. Certificate will not be kept on file. Incomplete form or
lack of supporting documentation will not be processed.
Request form and certificates/proof must be received by March 31 of the following year.
USE A SEPARATE REQUEST FORM FOR EACH DOG. Only UKC titles are eligible for UBSDA Awards.
MERIT RECOGNITION -Recognition is awarded to a dog in the following categories: Conformation Champion, first
BOB, first HIT, obedience, weight pull and agility. A dog may earn only one merit recognition in each category per
lifetime. Thus each dog may earn a maximum of 6 merit recognitions. These will not be awarded retroactively. Send
proof of each recognition activity with completed request form.
YEAR END AWARD -Award for advanced titles earned during the year. This includes Grand Champion, United
Agility Champion Excellent, United Weight Pull Champion and United Obedience Champion. Send a copy of the
appropriate certificate and completed request form.
VERSATILITY -This award is to recognize the multiple talents of the Belgian Shepherd Dog in conformation, agility
and obedience. The dog must earn a minimum the three titles listed for that level. This award can be earned over more
than one year.
Versatility Bronze: CH and two of the three titles UAGI, UCD, UWP
Versatility Silver: CH, UAGII & UCDX Versatility Gold: CH, UACH & UUD
Ultimate Versatility Dog: GRCH and two of the three UACHX, UOCH, UWPCH
TOP BREEDER AND TOP TOTAL DOG AWARDS - These awards are based on points earned during the year. Top
total dog must have a CH as well as performance titles. The CH may have been earned in another year. A dog with
multiple performance titles but no conformation championship would not be eligible for Top Total Dog Award. The
dog/breeder with the most points will receive Top Total dog/Top Breeder award. Send proof of each title earned with
completed request form.

SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD -Any UBSDA member in good standing that demonstrates the spirit of good
sportsmanship may be nominated. It can be yourself or another UBSDA member. Please submit the name and
paragraph of how the person demonstrated good sportsmanship. This can be a specific scenario or situation.
REQUEST FORM AND COPIES OF CERTIFICATES/PROOF MUST BE RECEIVED BY MARCH OF THE
FOLLOWING YEAR.
EXAMPLE: Request for awards and proof for 2001 competition year must be received by the Awards Chairperson by
March 31, 2002.
